Local law enforcement officers and emergency workers responded to an accident Thursday in which a Washington Elementary School student was injured. Gallipolis Police said 11-year old Michael R. Vallee was struck by a bus at 3:28 p.m. while crossing State Street/Ohio 588 in Gallipolis after school was dismissed. He was taken to Holzer Medical Center for treatment of what officers described as non-life threatening injuries.
